Bhutan Maritime Administration

The Bhutan Maritime Administration is the national authority responsible for regulating and supporting safe, secure, and efficient inland water activities across Bhutan’s rivers and reservoirs. Although Bhutan is a landlocked country, its key waterways—such as the Wang Chhu, Puna Tsang Chhu, and Drangme Chhu—play essential roles in hydropower, logistics, and community transport. The Administration promotes environmental protection, sustainable practices, and modern safety management across the nation’s inland navigation and related operations.
